For publishers and review sites
Keep the software prices on your pages correct
In short. StackWatch checks the software prices quoted on your pages against the vendors’ own pricing pages. Price Audit: $99 one time for up to 20 pages, report in 48 hours, and you pay nothing if we find no stale price. Price-Accuracy Watch: a daily check with an email when a line goes stale, 30 days free, then $49 a month. To start, email the page URLs to obekheet+stackwatch@gmail.com.
Who it is for
Review sites, comparison sites, newsletters and blogs that quote the prices of accounting, tax, payroll or practice-management software, and accounting firms that publish price guides for their clients. Vendors change prices with little notice: Xero raised its US prices on October 1, 2026, and Intuit removed and renamed ProSeries packages on October 24, 2026. In October 2026 we found publisher pages still quoting Xero’s old prices four weeks after the change.
Price Audit: $99, one time
- We read up to 20 of your pages and check every price line for the 14 tools we track against each vendor’s own US pricing page.
- Within 48 hours you get a list of every stale line: the page, the figure you show, the current figure, the vendor link and the date we read it. Lines that are correct are listed as checked.
- You pay after you receive the report, by card through a payment link. If the audit finds no stale price, you pay nothing.
- More than 20 pages: tell us the count and we quote before starting.
Price-Accuracy Watch: $49 a month after 30 days free
- We check the price lines on your pages every day, against the same vendor pages StackWatch reads each morning.
- When a vendor changes a price you quote, you get one email with the wrong figure, the current one and the vendor link, usually the same day we confirm the change.
- Nothing to pay for 30 days. At day 30 you decide; no card is taken up front.
What a report line looks like
Every stale line comes with the page, the figure you show, the current figure, the vendor page it came from and the date we read it. For example:
| Your page | You show | Vendor shows now | Source, read |
|---|---|---|---|
| /xero-review (example) | Xero Growing $55 a month | Xero Growing $59 a month | xero.com/us/pricing-plans, October 31, 2026 |
Xero raised its US list prices on October 1, 2026 (Growing went from $55 to $59 a month). See the Xero October 2026 increase.
What we check, and what we do not
We check list prices, plan names and billing basis for the tools we track: QuickBooks Online, Xero, Karbon, TaxDome, Dext, SmartVault, BILL, Fathom, Gusto, OnPay, Lacerte, ProSeries, Drake Tax, CCH Axcess. We label promotions as promotions and do not treat them as list prices. We do not edit your site, we do not check tools outside that list, and we do not give tax, legal or financial advice. Every figure we report comes from the vendor’s own page; how StackWatch verifies prices explains how.
