TaxDome’s new pricing: what it costs your firm
On November 2, 2026 TaxDome replaced its per-seat plans with one plan priced by active clients. Here is what that means at different firm sizes, who moves when, and what to check before your renewal.
Who moves to the new plan, and when
- Firms that signed up on or after November 2, 2026 are on client-based pricing from the start.
- Firms that signed up earlier stay on seat-based pricing until their first renewal on or after January 1, 2027. TaxDome’s Help Center now files the per-seat plans under “Seat-based pricing (legacy)”.
- A renewal before January 1, 2027 renews on the firm’s current plan and price for its whole next term, so a December renewal can keep per-seat pricing for most of 2027.
- At the switch, TaxDome says it shows an offer prepared for your firm in Team & plans before anything changes. What your firm is offered may differ from the list prices below.
The new plan’s list prices
TaxDome’s pricing page uses a slider; these are the points it shows. Firms under 150 active clients pay the 150-client price. Firms past 20 team members or 3,000 active accounts get a custom quote.
| Active clients | List price | Per active client, per year |
|---|---|---|
| 150 | $1,500 a year | $10 |
| 500 | $5,175 a year | $10.35 |
| 1,000 | $9,000 a year | $9 |
| 1,500 | $11,625 a year | $7.75 |
| 2,000 | $13,500 a year | $6.75 |
| 2,500 | $15,600 a year | $6.24 |
| 3,000 | $16,500 a year | $5.50 |
Read on taxdome.com/pricing on November 5, 2026. The last column is our division of the list price by the client count.
Old vs new, by firm size
The old column is the per-seat list price on a one-year commitment (Essentials $800, Pro $1,000, Business $1,200 a seat a year, read October 31, 2026). The new column is the one plan at the same client count. Plans differ in features and the old plans are no longer sold to new firms, so this compares price only.
| Firm | Old (per seat, 1 year) | New (one plan) | Change a year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo firm, Essentials, under 150 clients | $800 | $1,500 | +$700 |
| 3 seats, Pro, 150 clients | $3,000 | $1,500 | −$1,500 |
| 5 seats, Pro, 500 clients | $5,000 | $5,175 | +$175 |
| 5 seats, Business, 500 clients | $6,000 | $5,175 | −$825 |
| 10 seats, Pro, 1,000 clients | $10,000 | $9,000 | −$1,000 |
| 20 seats, Pro, 1,000 clients | $20,000 | $9,000 | −$11,000 |
Business firms: Client Care ($100 a month, $1,200 a year) is billed separately under the new plan. Business firms keep it until their license ends; after that, the 5-seat Business row changes from −$825 to +$375 a year if the firm keeps Client Care.
Size your client count at renewal, not mid-year
Clients beyond your tier are billed on demand at $15 per account, invoiced on the 2nd of each month for the previous month. Lower-cost packs can be bought only when you subscribe or renew, and unused pack accounts expire at renewal. The count only grows during the plan year and restarts at zero at renewal.
- A firm with 500 active accounts on the 500 tier pays $5,175. The same firm on the 150 tier pays $1,500 plus 350 × $15 = $6,750, $1,575 more.
- At 1,000 accounts: $9,000 on the tier, against $1,500 plus 850 × $15 = $14,250 on the minimum, $5,250 more.
This is our arithmetic from TaxDome’s published list prices; TaxDome does not publish these comparisons.
What counts as an active client
TaxDome’s two pages word it differently. The pricing page counts a client as active after any activity in the past 12 months: logging in, uploading, messaging or receiving an invoice. The Help Center counts an active account when the firm issues an invoice, creates a job or uploads a document; firm emails and documents from the web-migration tool do not count, and several people on one account count once. Each client account counts, so a client with a personal and a partnership account counts twice. Once active, an account is covered for the rest of the plan year.
Billed separately
- AI: $200 a month (US firms; 14-day trial)
- Client Care: $100 a month
- Premium support: $249 a month
- White-label app: by quote
What to do now
- Find your renewal date in TaxDome under Settings › Team & plans.
- If it falls before January 1, 2027, your next term stays on your current per-seat plan.
- If it falls on or after January 1, 2027, count your active accounts for the last 12 months and compare the tier price with your current seats × per-seat price.

Questions
How much does TaxDome cost now?
For firms signing up on or after November 2, 2026, TaxDome sells one plan billed annually with 20 seats included: $1,500 a year at 150 active clients, $5,175 at 500, $9,000 at 1,000 and $16,500 at 3,000 (list prices read November 5, 2026). Larger firms are quoted individually.
When do existing TaxDome firms switch to the new pricing?
At their first renewal on or after January 1, 2027. A renewal before that date keeps the firm’s current plan and price for its whole next term.
Will my firm pay more under TaxDome’s new pricing?
It depends on staff per client. On list prices, a solo Essentials firm goes from $800 to $1,500 a year, while 10 Pro seats at 1,000 clients go from $10,000 to $9,000. TaxDome prepares an individual renewal offer, which may differ from list.
What happens if my firm has more active clients than its tier?
Extra accounts are billed on demand at $15 each, invoiced monthly, and lower-cost packs can be bought only at subscribe or renew, so choosing the tier at renewal matters.
