Verified pricing change
QuickBooks Online raised prices on August 1, 2026 — here are the exact new numbers
Three of the four plans went up between 13% and 24%. Every figure below was read from Intuit's own pricing page and re-checked five times since.
If you quote clients on QuickBooks Online, the numbers you used in July are out of date. Intuit raised list prices on August 1, 2026 for direct subscriptions, and rolled the same increase to subscriptions managed through the QuickBooks Solution Provider program on renewals from September 1. Here is exactly what changed.
The new QuickBooks Online prices
| Plan | Was | Now | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Simple Start | $38/mo | $38/mo | no change |
| Essentials | $75/mo | $85/mo | +13% |
| Plus | $115/mo | $140/mo | +22% |
| Advanced | $275/mo | $340/mo | +24% |
User counts unchanged: Simple Start 1 user, Essentials 3, Plus 5, Advanced 25. Accountant seats 2/2/2/3.
Watch the promo — it is not the list price
Intuit's pricing page almost always carries a discount banner over these numbers. As of early September it reads "50% off for 3 months" (showing $19 / $42.50 / $70 / $170); earlier in the summer it was "90% off." Those are promotional rates that expire — the list prices your client pays from month four are $38 / $85 / $140 / $340. When you build a quote or a forecast, use the list price, not the banner.
What this means for your firm
A client on Plus is paying $300 more a year than they were in July; a client on Advanced, $780 more. If you manage several QBO files, that is a conversation worth having before the renewal invoice lands — proactively, framed as "here's what changed and why," rather than reactively after a client emails you about a bigger bill.
Never get caught off guard by a price change again
StackWatch checks pricing across the whole accounting-software stack — QuickBooks, Xero, BILL, Gusto and more — every single day, and flags a change the morning it happens. We caught this QBO increase the morning the page moved.
